It all looked very jolly inside, the mulled wine heating on the woodburner wafted through the building. Mince pies abounded and one of our dealers, a former chef, brought in a wonderful curry with all the side dishes. We all sat round the woodburner chatting and eating until about 9.30. A lovely evening which gave everyone a chance to catch up without the thought of needing to be somewhere else as is usually the case!
We're only closing on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. If last year is anything to go by, the Christmas hols can be quite a busy time for us. And if not, then perhaps I'll have time to write my Christmas cards!!!

sounds as if you had a great evening despite the lack of customers... sometimes it is good to relax, chat & catch up.. we all do too much running around (I know I do!)

Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Hi Sue,
Shame that there weren't more customers to see your welcoming emporium on Thursday evening...I'm glad that you all enjoyed yourselves though and of course there were more mince pies for you all to share round!

Sounds like a lovely evening! I can understand you not closing I bet you will do lots of trade in the holidays as your place looks interesting to visit.
What a wonderful blog, you make me smile even if you don't intend to, I love the way you speak your mind. I too would not have been pleased travelling for an hour only to be told they were closed!!!
I wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous Christmas and new year.
take care

Your late night does sound fun, even if it was a bit of a let down customer-wise. I bet the curry was gorgeous! The shop sounds so welcoming. I hope that you do well over the Christmas holidays and have a lovely Christmas yourself xxx
Hi Sue, Paul and I planned to visit you on Thursday eve but Georgia was unwell with a sore throat and a temp. Didnt want to pass that onto everyone ( what a nice Christmas gift that would have been?!) Glad to hear you had a nice time anyway!
Well Sue, if I lived closer I'd have been there like a shot - it's a must to visit next year! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year, hope to catch up with you at Shepton next year.
