Snowless in Somerton and Semley ...

... but I stopped on the way to Dairy House Antiques this morning to take this photo. If you enlarge it you can see the snow drifting across the hills. It was a bit bleak, but the layby where I took the photo was the nearest the snow got to the A303 on my journey. And it transpires that Somerton was basking in sunshine all morning!

Not a particularly well-placed blue selection, but I took this one in a hurry thinking it looked better than it does; I thought the chequered theme worked quite well though and if I'd thought sooner I could have placed them on some blue fabric that was in the car (but that might have been check overload).

For my final "study in blue" here's a blue painted dresser for sale at Dairy House Antiques, with blue and white china displayed on its shelves. The dealer it belongs to wasn't sure about the blue on blue, but I thought it looked really good.

That's all for now. Hope you're not all snowed in ...

Hi sue,
The snow reached as far as us yesterday, so I am surprised that you didn't have any.

Love the blue enamelware. And I think it would look pretty displayed on blue fabric too, giving customers the opportunity to buy the whole look for their kitchen!

Fantastic photo. The 303 is George and I's favourite road as it takes us to Cornwall! It is a bit bleak in places though. Love all that blue. It's my favourite colour. I agree with you that the blue on blue looks really great.

The snow's pretty to look at but I honestly prefer it just like this, in pictures.

On the other hand, the blue and white china can come stay at my house anytime. I have two of those huge old willow ware platters shown on the bottom center of the hutch.

I love your blue kitchenware. Thank you for showing it to us. Blue is often forgotten as a great colour to use in kitchens.

The gray sky along with the gray hills makes the day look very dreary. However, that antique store appears to have been a bright spot in your day!

Snow at a distance is lovely but I would rather be in what's suppose to be sunny California..not...its cold and windy and raining cats and dogs today. It is still better than shoveling snow I think. I too love the blue ware you are showing. It has such an antique feel to it.
